Your kids may be picky, and they probably are. But you don’t want to just give in to unhealthy, store-bought juice options that are heavy on flavorings and refined sugars and light on everything good about juice. In fact, even some 100% juice products aren’t all juice anyway.
Give the grapefruit a try
Grapefruit, with its characteristic bittersweet flavor, is one of those fruits that not everyone likes. But it is so healthy that you should at least introduce your kids to it. If you haven’t already done so, juicing it with your juicer is a great way to start.
If you don’t like grapefruit, it’s still possible that your kids will. If they already love it, then you’ve come to the right place. In this recipe, the grapefruit bitterness is smoothed out with mellow pears and striking blackberries — each very healthy in its own right.
Healthy thinking
Since it is cold and flu season, your kids need all the help their little immune systems can get. Grapefruit, especially fresh, has loads of vitamin C. Even though it is acidic in form, it can have an alkalizing effect on the body, which helps all systems run smoother.
