No, I love this sentence (and I agree American Idol is ubiquitous) … “This delicious Banana Phyllo can be ready to cap off your meal just as Ryan Seacrest is sending this week’s Idol loser home”

I think that this other sentence, from the excerpt, is generic and delete-able: “This delicious Banana Phyllo is a great way to cap off any meal.”

“This yummy You Name It is a great way to cap off any meal.”

Thanks for the comments. Josh, I think American Idol spans all cultures so I’m not worried about Canada. I’ve placed images and noted the formatting. I’m using Viking because I don’t want to use oven twice in the same sentence. I’m not sure why you hav a problem with “This delicious Banana Phyllo can be ready to cap off your meal just as Ryan Seacrest is sending this week’s Idol loser home” so I left it. Ready for publishing.

Hi Jim, I’ve done one pass on the copyediting so there’s just a little left Monday morning after you incorporate feedback.
–Please compare the revisions I made to your version right beforehand — that way you’ll see the sorts of things that were changed. Some of them are the standard styles we’re using in recipes (e.g., ounce instead of oz.), and you’ll instantly see them.
–To get fractions, open the Characters window and select “Digits” and get fractions at the bottom. How to get Characters window: at Finder level, in the menu select Edit, then at the bottom “Special Characters…”
–THANKS for placing the thumbs.
–Now your JonDavis pics are ready to be placed.

One last bit of feedback. This sort of line indicates you’ve never tasted the dish: “This delicious Banana Phyllo is a great way to cap off any meal.” It’s so generic, I wonder if it should be deleted.

I like it.
The Idol reference needs to go for Canadian purposes. Also, I think the Viking should just be oven.

I think the ease of using pre-made phyllo is a real asset that should be played up more. “Oven fresh pastry without all the work” kind of vibe. With that in mind i would think about dropping the make your own phyllo bit. Just don’t think it fits the rest of the aim of the post.

Thats all I can see. I’m assuming the photos are forthcoming . . .

Josh, your feedback was needed right away. I needed to have this from Jim on Friday morning so I could copyedit it in time for sending to Brett, who sends it to Rob, etc etc.
Can you give your feedback over the weekend? Otherwise, it’ll have to go along without the benefit of your feedback.
Jim, aside from that, it looks like you’ve got nearly all the basics already covered in your post. The one piece that isn’t habit yet, and it’s pretty new to the process: edit the “Publish on” date to be the publish date (in this case, Nov 23).
