You know that juicing is a fantastic way to absorb nutrients quickly to help your body function better. You also know that a healthy dose of probiotics helps your digestive and immune systems. Combining the two is a flavorful way to stay healthy.
Healthier, happier gut
Making a probiotic-rich juice cocktail is simpler than eating pie. All live culture yogurts have probiotics — they are, in fact, the healthy bacterial cultures that make yogurt. And they make your GI tract a happier place.
You can also go low fat or fat free without losing the probiotic benefits. Just be sure to check the container for “live and active cultures.” If you want, you can use starter cultures to make your own yogurt.
Add It In
Mixing yogurt and fresh juice is a snap. After you juice your fruits and veggies, just pour the juice into a bowl and mix the yogurt right in. If you don’t mind a little foam in your drinks, you can actually add the yogurt right to the juicing pitcher.
Here’s a great recipe for getting started:

The Yogurt Mangoloupe
Ingredients
- 1 mango halved, peeled, and seeded
- ½ small cantaloupe, peeled, seeded, and cut into 2 equal portions
- 5 oranges, peeled
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
Process all the fruit through your juicer. Mix in the yogurt, and enjoy.
