Keying in on Kiwi

KiwiThe Kiwi fruit was so named in the 1950s for marketing purposes. It was originally known as a Chinese gooseberry.  Now it has the distinction of being perhaps one of the only fruits named after a bird. But don’t think that this in any way diminishes the value of this little fruit.

Did you know a kiwi fruit has twice the vitamin C of an orange? It’s a perfect food to give your immune system an extra boost.

Since it is not a very watery fruit, using a regular juicer will waste a lot. To get the most out of this little wonder, you’ll need to use a pureé disc if you have a dual disc juicer. That is the easiest option. But a blender or food processor will do the job in a pinch.
